Rotores de Portugal History
The team is founded in April 1976 from 33 Squadron, performing for the first time at Sintra airbase and flying with four Alouette III helicopters. The last demonstration with four Alouettes, the team performs in October 1980.
In 1982 the team is become part of 552 Squadron, while the team's helicopters reduced to two.
In 1991 again the Rotores are dislocated to 111 Squadron, flying with three helicopters.
In 2005 they again returned like a unit from 552 Squadron, operating with three machines.
Team's helicopters are painted in standard camouflage paint scheme with red, green and yellow spots and Rotores de Portugal inscription at each side of the fuselage. They use white smoke generators.
