The "Patrulla Aguila" is a Spanish Air Force aerobatic display team. The team consists of 12 Spanish-built CASA C-101 Aviojet training jets only seven of which actually fly in airshows. The #12th aircraft is a spare and normally stays at the team's home base in San Javier.
The team's C-101 Aviojet trainers are equipped with white, red and yellow color smoke generators.
The team consists of 11 pilots each using the callsign of "Aguila". "Patrula Aguila" also has a spare pilot as compared to other aerobatic teams.
During the show, the team separates into three formations: a basic four-ship formation, #5 is a solo pilot, and #6 and #7 are a solo pair.
The ground crew for the team consists of about 30 personnel, 16 of which are first line, technicians preparing the aircraft just before demonstrations.
