Marche Verte (Green March)* History

   The Royal Moroccan Air Force aerobatic display team Marche Verte is formed in 1988 in order of King Hassan II. The task of creation is given to the French aerobatic pilot Jean-Pierre Otelli. At the beginning the team flies with two CAP-231 planes, which later increase to seven. The team practicing unique formation takeoffs, while all seven planes are tied with ropes. In this composition they perform some maneuvers, while in breaking apart maneuver they tear the ropes. Team's demonstration is about 23 minutes, while in first seven minutes they fly tied with ropes. All team planes are painted in red, green and yellow colors, and use white smoke generators. At the presents Marche Verte flies with CAP-232 airplanes.  

* The Green March was a strategic mass demonstration in November 1975, coordinated by the Moroccan government, to force Spain to hand over the disputed province of Sahara to Morocco.
