A Swiss Air Force F-5E Tiger II fighter jet crashed on May 26, 2021 at Swiss Alps near Melchsee-Frutt. The F-5E was in colors of Patrouille Suisse.

Pilot managed to eject and was unhurt.

The aircraft was on combat training mission with other Swiss Air Force fighter jets when the engine failure forced the pilot to eject.

It is not clear for now if the pilot was a part of Swiss Air Force aerobatic team Patrouille Suisse.

The last and only crash involving Patrouille Suisse team was on June 9, 2016 during practice flight for upcoming Netherlands Air Force Open Days at Leeuwarden.
