The US Air Force Thunderbirds and US NAVY Blue Angels flew in "Super Delta" formation again yesterday during the joint team’s exercise in El Centro.
Thunderbirds arrived in Naval Air Facility El Centro on Feb 25th, for a regular joint exercise between both US demonstration squadrons.
The first “Super Delta” formation was introduced on March 2, 2021 over Imperial Valley, when the formation was led by Blue Angels. Now the “Super Delta” was led by the Thunderbirds.
This new formation was preceded by a series of join flyovers called “Operation America Strong,” over the USA during the COVID19 pandemic in 2020.
Both demonstration teams Blue Angels and Thunderbirds will fly together at same airshow this year on 18-19 March, at Naval Base Ventura County Air Show, NAS Point Mugu, CA.
