Both US military Demonstration Squadrons performed joint flyovers on April 28, over New York, Newark, Trenton and Philadelphia to salute healthcare workers at Northeast. This was a unique event as the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds never perform such a flyovers together.
Thunderbirds and Blue Angels takes off from NAS Pensacola and flew more than 2600 miles to these cities and back, as they were refueled few times in the air by KC-135 and KC-10 planes.
The flyovers were part of Operation America Strong which goal is to raise the spirit of US citizen and to honor first responders and healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
The other cities joint flyovers were scheduled for Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Atlanta on May 2nd.
