First public display of this aerobatic team is on MAKS'95 airshow, when team performed with six standard camouflages painted L-39 planes. Russ history begins long ago in 1987, when L-39 jet-training planes from Vjazma (Vyazma) aero club (unit of DOSAAF - Voluntary Society of Assistance to the Army, the Air Force and the Navy), starting to fly in formation. Later team's planes receive white-blue paint scheme and smoke generators.
On 10 June 2001 two of the teams airplanes collided during three-ship formation take off. Both planes #5 and #7 crashed, but one of the ejected pilots, #7 did not survive and dies. A cause of the crash is strong wind and #7's error.
In the present team consists of seven white-blue painted L-39 aircrafts equipped with smoke generators. Short time ago every payable aviation fan can fly on the back seat during team formation trainings, but now this practice is disabled.
